Bears Finish Strong

After 110 minutes of soccer the Bears lost to eventual state champion South in a shootout 3-2. It was an intense game that neither team deserved to lose. The Bears finished the tournament strong beating Soldotna 4-2 and West Valley 3-2 to claim 4th place. Giving the eventual state champion the best match was some consolation, but I’m still very proud of this team’s efforts. JDHS continued its streak of 16 straight State Tournaments without losing twice and finishing 4th or better. The team also won the g.p.a award and the sportsmanship award. Oswaldo Magallanes, Ben Undurraga and Hunter Pegues received all-tournament awards. Great season!
